The gift that keeps on giving.

2 weeks ago, our sweet girl went under the knife. Yep, she finally got spayed!!! She can now play with all the dogs she wants and Nate and I won't have to be the paranoid parents that we have been.  Taking her into the vet was surprisingly very hard on me. My dog was getting spayed for heavens sake... not dying! I coulnd't help but get emotional after dropping her off and calling my husband every hour.  Six hours later, I finally got the call that I could go pick her up. It was so sad seeing her come out of anesthesia... but she did great.

She threw up ALOT... hence the bowl at the side of her.
And she kept shaking and shivering, so Nate covered her with her blanket and gave her a pillow. Spoiled dog!
Now she is back to her normal self and continues to be the happiest dog in the world. Love you Roxy!

Families are FOREVER

I am so grateful for my eternal family. I love them with all of my heart. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better family.

I love my brothers so much. Even though they are both younger than me, I look up to them SO MUCH. They both are such great examples to me. Some say they feel bad for me that I don't have any sisters... I'm not! I wouldn't change my family of only brothers for anything.

I am truely blessed to have found my soul mate. I love my husband Nate more than I can express. We have only been married 1 year and a half, but we have been through SO much together. He is my rock. The person who always puts a smile on my face. My eternal companion. My BEST friend.  I love you Nate, you mean the world to me.

And last, but not least, my AMAZING parents. I honestly do not know what I would do without them. They raised me exactly like I want to raise my kids. They have been the picture perfect parents. Never fought, always loved eachother and always showed their love for their kids.  I have been so blessed. I love my family.
And a last little thanks to my awesome Uncle Dave for taking these family pictures. Thank you for taking time away from your family to do this for us :) You're the best.

He's home!!!

Elder Zach Dastrup has returned home after a 2 year mission in Fresno, California. He was greatly missed!!! Here Nate and I are waiting anxiously for Zach to come down the stairs... never been so excited!
It's SUPER dark and blurry... but we were obviously too excited to see him to pay any attention to the camera. He's home!!! Greatest hug of all time!
Zach filling out the last circle on his missionary count down
At his homecoming. He did an AMAZING job!

And of course... Roxy had to come and play too.

My husband

Yesterday I had the best birthday I've had in 24 years. I honestly have the most amazing husband in the world. I can't thank him enough for all that he does for me. He made my birthday SO special that I want to share it all with you. Here is each surprise he did for me throughout the day.

Surprise #1- He decorated our house so cute!!! (mind you, he woke up early before I woke up to do all of this... very sneaky)

Surprise #2- Nate surprised me with my favorite NFL team hoodie! GO COLTS! (and yes, he made me wear that birthday hat...)
Surprise #3- He told me to be ready by 11:30 am so we could go to our next activity. He then pulled up to Jordan Commons with tickets to "Easy A" (The show I've been wanting to see for a very long time!) Picture taken while waiting for the movie to begin. Surprise #4- Nate earlier in the day had asked me where my wallet was. It wasn't until this moment that I found out why he wanted it. He put $$$ all fanned out inside my wallet and wrapped it up. He gave it to me when we got back to our car after the movie. He then drove me to the mall to spend all the money!!! He knows how much I LOVE shopping.

The money Nate gave me shortly turned into this...

Surprise #5- Nate took me to my very favorite restaurant, The Olive Garden. SO YUMMY! As we were waiting for our table to be ready, my 3 best friends walked in!! Nate had made arrangements for them to meet us there to celebrate my birthday! Jess, Katie, Addie and her hubby Sam all made the last part of my birthday the best! We had a blast sitting at dinner for hours just talking and laughing.

I am the luckiest girl in the world. I have a wonderful husband who I love with all my heart and friends who I couldn't live without. Thank you to everyone who made my day so special and memorable.

Some of you may laugh at this post... however it is no joke. :) Last week we celebrated my puppy Roxy's 1st B-day! Until Nate decides to give me a baby, I will probably continue to treat my dog as a baby and spoil her like no other. Kinda sad, I know :) ha ha But we love her so much. She has truely become apart of our family that we could never live without. She brings so much joy into our lives. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROXY!!! Here are just a few of the pics we took of her opening up presents and celebrating her big day.
She loves to open her presents. So cute!

More bones... of course.
She HATED posing for this picture. But she did it just for her mom :)
One happy little puppy!

Pround Parents. Love you Roxy girl!

Lately :)

I've been SO busy lately to even think about updating our blog... but realized how much I love looking at other peoples' blogs. So here it goes, our life lately has consisted of:

*We celebrated my little brother Tanner's birthday. He's 17 years old! So crazy. Happy Birthday Tanner! Love you tonz.

* My dad, Tanner, and Nate went on a last minute trip to California to pick up a new boat. It's so sweet! So we took it out for a spin the day after they got home and had a blast!

It's a tradition that whoever surfs, has to wear the neon orange hat.

* On the 4th of July, Nate and I decided to our own thing this year and just do fireworks ourselves. We brought along Roxy for her first time to see how she'd react to it. This is what happened.

Here she is VERY interested in what is going on.

After the first firework went off, she FREAKED OUT!

Followed by her jumping on my lap for some comfort from the fireworks.

And then... ended up under the car. ha ha poor thing.

*Nate works downtown, so every once in a while when I'm off of work, Roxy and I will meet him for lunch at Memory Grove. Roxy loves to play in the little pond and with all the other dogs. This is her favorite thing to do. It is so fun to watch her.

* Nate has a new hobby that he has become, well, obsessed with. It's fishing! He goes any few second he has. Not gonna lie, I got alittle jealous. So I bought myself a fishing license! ha ha. Next thing I know, Nate bought me a bright pink fishing pole! It's so stinkin cute!

*Last, but not least... I have the most amazing husband in the world! After almost one year and a a half of marriage, we have yet to have cable tv. This has been very hard for me, considering the family of all boys that I come from where the TV is on 24/7. Anyways, we finally ordered DISH. Nate decided to make a fun night out of it. So when I got home, this is what I walked into.

The red carpet with all of my favorite actors/actresses names on stars.

With ours at the end :)

Then with a TV dinner to watch in front of the TV. (This was my very first TV dinner ever... and it was NASTY. But the thought was so cute! )

At th end of the red carpt, there was our table in the middle of the family room with candles. So we sat in front of the TV and ate our TV dinners. It was so cute and thoughtful of him. YAY for TV!!!
